2010 Oxmoor Stingray Swim Team

The Oxmoor Stingray Swim Team participates in the Summer Fun League (SFL) and is open to girls and boys ages 5 – 18.  The season runs from early June through late July with 5 – 6 dual meets on Monday or Thursday evenings and a Championship meet held on a Saturday or a Sunday.  We offer morning and evening practices with the strong recommendation that each child attend at least 3 practices a week.  We also offer Monday morning stroke clinics for individual age groups.

2010 Tentative schedule

• Thursday, May 20^th – Kick-off rally and registration; guest speaker: Todd Larkin, Head Swim Team Coach at St. X High School
• Wednesday, June 2^nd – practice starts
• Tuesday, June 8^th – parent meeting during both practices

June 16^th – Harmony Landing hosts Oxmoor

June 21^st – Hillcrest hosts Oxmoor

June 28^th – Oxmoor hosts Polo Fields

July 6^th – Oxmoor hosts Standard

July 12^th – Oxmoor hosts Forest Springs

July 18^th – Championships

All dual meets start at 6:00 pm with warm-ups starting at 5:00 pm for the home team and 5:30 pm for the visiting team.

• The Championship Swim Meet is an all day event on a Sunday, July 18th.  More information will be available as the date approaches.
• Spirit Night will be the Thursday or Friday before Championships
• Awards Banquet will be 1 – 2 weeks following Championships.

Practice Schedule

Morning practice: Tuesday – Friday 10 am – 11 am (all ages)

Evening practice: Tuesday – Thursday 7 pm – 8 pm (all ages)

Stroke clinics: Monday mornings 10 am – 11 am (each week will be a different age group)

Cost

1 swimmer: $95

2 swimmers: $185

3 or more swimmers: $270

Volunteers

All swim meets require a multitude of volunteers.  Each family is expected to do their fair share by working at dual meets as well as at championships.  No job is too difficult and we’ll be happy to train you in any position you are unfamiliar with.
